Something borrowed, something blue

I have just returned from my big Wedding Day! And yes girls, you really do feel like a princess. Women (and their mothers) have had a long tradition of planning their wedding, but I have to admit, my husband was behind the success of the day. I am very lucky!

I know a lot of you are going through wedding preparations at the moment, so I just thought I’d share a few experiences that might help the big day run a bit more smoothly.

Samantha & Craig 4My husband, Craig, and I were only dating for a few months before he proposed. And before anyone gets any ideas, no, I’m not pregnant. We just love to live in the moment, and the timing was perfect. Living in the moment doesn’t always have its advantages. For one, we only had three months to prepare our dream wedding, so we had to move quickly.

We decided the best option for us was to marry abroad. It was always my dream to exchange nuptials in Santorini, but given the long distance for many of our friends and family, we decided to opt for somewhere a closer to home.

After a bit of research one Sunday morning sipping tea and searching online, we fell in love with Blue Point Chapel in Ulawatu Bali. As you can see, both the chapel and the Infinity pool are incredible. If you like the location, let me know. I’m happy to send the details to you.

My husband organised everything from the flowers and decorations, to the photographer, fireworks, magician, make up and cake. It was zero stress and all perfectly planned. Well, apart from the monsoonal rain forcing us to post pone the ceremony for an hour and a half and missing out on outdoor photos on the day.  We weren’t going to let a little rain phase our bubble of love, so the simple solution was to  reshoot on a Sunny day a few days later. It was the perfect opportunity for us to get all dressed up in our wedding clothes (again) and re-live our special day!
