"The CQ gives couples the opportunity to test their compatibility before getting too involved in a relationship", Dr Wilson explains. The CQ test is based on 30 factors that cause relationship discontent once the honeymoon period is over. These include to attitudes to money, family values, food preferences, religion, lifestyle, smoking, drinking, education levels ,social status, sexual experience and TV programs.
Similars attract
It has been found couples that share a similar lifestyle and enjoy the same TV programs are three times more likely to stay together. Women are eight times happier if they have similar views to pornography as their partners and 60% more likely to stay together with a partner with similar political views.
Birds of a feather flock together. Sharing similar values allows you to develop a deeper, more meaningful relationship and you are more likely to become best friends rather than the high probability turmoil of opposites.
What women and men want in a partner
